OSU Center for Health Sciences educates osteopathic physicians, research scientists and other health care professionals with emphasis on serving rural and under-served Oklahoma.
Through our Tulsa campus, clinics, affiliated teaching hospital, and facilities across Oklahoma and neighboring states, we train student osteopathic physicians, interns, residents and fellows. As such, our College of Osteopathic Medicine has adopted the American Osteopathic Association’s code of ethics.
Our Forensic Sciences program is one of only eight in the nation accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
Our Biomedical Sciences program offers advanced degrees in anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology and physiology.
Additionally, OSU Center for Health Sciences offers a master of science in Natural and Applied Sciences – Health Care Administration and a combined DO/MBA program, which allows students to earn an MBA in their first year then continue with four years of uninterrupted osteopathic medical education.
Our biomedical research involves projects by faculty and investigative teams of scientists who seek to translate molecular research into new medical therapies. Extramural funding for our research has increased five-fold during the past decade, most significantly in neuroscience.
Tulsa is a great place to live, work and attend school. Get involved in the many student organizations tailored to your specific goals and hobbies. Our student ambassadors are trained to help you navigate campus. And, we’re one of the only medical schools in the national offering stress management skills programming for students by students.
Financing a medical education is an expensive proposition.
The primary responsibility for meeting your educational costs rests with you and/or your family, but the Office of Student Affairs makes every attempt to assist you financially.
You will undoubtedly rely on student loans to finance your education. Approximately 85 percent of the student body borrows some type of federal loan. The purpose of financial aid is to help students and families meet educational expenses that cannot be met through their own resources.
