Awards $250-$2,000
These scholarships are granted to outstanding education majors (undergraduate and graduate students). Awards are given based on the following criteria: academic achievement, evidence of leadership and/or community service, exceptional talent, character and financial need. An essay is required detailing how you plan to use your education degree and why you have chosen teaching as your career.

About These Scholarships and the Application Process
In an effort to make a college degree as affordable as possible, Johnson State College is pleased to be able to offer current students the scholarships summarized here and on the following page. In addition to meeting the specific criteria noted for each award, you must be a full-time student currently enrolled in a degree program at JSC, be in good academic standing, and intend to enroll in a JSC degree program in the upcoming year in order to be considered. (Note: Except for the Endowed Scholarships for Education, for which graduate students are eligible to apply, the scholarships listed on this application are for undergraduate students only.)
The deadline to apply is February 12, 2010.
Applicants will be notified of the scholarship award decision(s) by e-mail to their JSC e-mail address by April 23, 2010.
