Dr. Donald and Mrs. Dorothy Wheeler have developed this scholarship to thank the University for all it has provided their family, and to encourage the same type of dedication to learning they have displayed all their lives. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is enrolled full-time (12 or more credits per semester) and who has a minimum QPA of 3.0. The student must be pursuing his/her first undergraduate degree and be enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior. The student must play a double reed instrument, specifically, English horn, oboe, bassoon, or the contra-bassoon. Candidates must audition for a minimum of 15 minutes on their applied musical instrument before the members of the Music Department Scholarship Committee. The student must demonstrate outstanding musical aptitude as well as academic excellence. Financial need is a factor.
The Edinboro University Chamber Players perform throughout the tri-state area during the academic year, and numerous formal concerts by faculty and students are presented in the newly-renovated Louis C. Cole Auditorium on campus.
