Purpose:
Objectives include enabling bright scholars the opportunity to appreciate the United Kingdom and familiarize themselves with academic and social culture by attending and completing a 2 year graduate program of study at one of many eligible British universities.
Fields of Study:
Science, Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Creative Arts
Eligibility:
To qualify, a candidate must:
1)be a U.S. citizen at the time of application
2)hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college in the United States (by the time the scholarship will be awarded)
3)have obtained a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.7
4)have graduated from their undergraduate college after April 2004
5)requires college endorsement and college submission of application
Award:
Roughly £20,000 (equivalent to about $37,676) comprised of:
- Payment of tuition fees at selected UK University;
- £689/month – personal allowance for residence and cost of living expenses;
- Fares to and from the U.S.
Claimable allowances totaling approximately £3,300 including:
- an arrival allowance
- a grant for books
- a grant for approved travel in connection with studies
- payment of necessary daily expenses in excess for travel between place of residence and place of study, provided the distance between the two is reasonable
