Scholarships or student grants program description
Excellent teachers are of vital importance to the future of America and its children. The Department of Teacher Education, in cooperation with academic departments across the campus, offers high quality teacher education programs in elementary education and in numerous secondary education subject areas. The Teacher Education Program at the University is organized around the conceptual framework, “Teachers as Reflective Decision-Makers.” The primary goal and mission of the Teacher Education Program continues to involve helping prospective teachers to become effective decision-makers who base decisions on a well-developed philosophy of education. Scholarships and awards at Dickinson State University are supported by gifts from alumni and friends of the University. (By completing the scholarship application, you are applying for all available academic and Foundation scholarships.) If you have questions about applying for scholarships, please call the Foundation office at 701-483-2004. Priority deadline for all scholarships and awards is December 1. Applications for new students are available in the Office of Academic Records, May Hall, room 111. Total Amount Awarded: $130.00 * Be starting his/her senior year * Have an GPA of 3.0 * Be going into teaching as a profession
